THE CHALLENGE

Engineering value beyond the product

Our client faced a critical challenge: How could they increase product value for healthcare professionals while simultaneously enabling biomedical experts to leverage device data and IoT technology effectively? At the same time, they were navigating a complex organisational and technical landscape managing vast amounts of unstructured data without a clear IoT framework. Addressing these challenges required developing new service offerings, validating prototypes, and aligning them with future IT strategies.

What we did

Strategic collaboration, measurable results

  • Multidisciplinary expertise: we assembled a team of strategy consultants, UX designers, IT specialists and in-house experts to tackle this complex challenge from every angle.

  • In-depth field research: conducting studies in 17 hospitals across Germany and the US, we gathered insights from over 50 qualitative interviews to maximise the value of the data.

  • Service innovation: through iterative prototyping, we designed and validated three service applications, uncovering actionable insights to drive impactful solutions.

We embraced a human-centred approach, focusing on the needs of healthcare professionals and managing stakeholder expectations. Through cross-functional collaboration, we developed and tested a minimum viable product in real-world settings, refining solutions iteratively. Additionally, we created a data architecture and a feasible road map to ensure long-term value, paving the way for future technical automation, scalability and business growth.
